Give Your LightCam a Fresh Start

How to fully power-cycle your LightCam when a quick wall-switch flip isn't enough.

Give Your LightCam a Fresh Start

Sometimes your LightCam just needs a full reset — power completely off, everything cleared, and back on fresh. Here's how to do it right.

Why "flip the switch" sometimes isn't enough

A quick wall-switch flip can be too brief to fully reset the camera's network connection. The camera has a small amount of stored power that holds things in place for a second or two, and the connection state doesn't always clear. When that happens, the camera comes back on as if nothing happened — and the problem comes back with it.

The fix is a full twist-out. That cuts power completely and gives the camera time to fully reset before it starts back up.

How to give your LightCam a fresh start

  1. Twist the camera counter-clockwise until it comes fully out of the socket.
  2. Wait 30 seconds. This is the part that matters — give it time.
  3. Twist it back in clockwise until it's snug.

The camera will power on and reconnect to your network. Give it about 2 minutes. The light will turn solid white once it's back online.

Still offline after 2 minutes?

A few things to check:

  • Your home WiFi is working (open a website on your phone to confirm)
  • The wall switch for that fixture is turned on
  • The camera is within good range of your router

If it's still not back, see Camera Went Offline — How to Get It Back for more steps.
