One-year limited warranty and 30-day return policy for LightCam cameras. No restocking fee. No fine print.

Warranty & Return Policy

LightCam II, Inc. — Effective June 2026

Warranty

What We Cover

Every LightCam camera comes with a one-year limited warranty from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship.

If your LightCam stops working — not because of something you did, but because it shouldn't have failed — we'll make it right: we replace the camera. Once your unit gets back to us, we ship your replacement. That's the warranty. No fine print designed to get out of it.

What the Warranty Covers

  • Hardware defects: the camera stops turning on, the video fails, the socket connection fails, the light stops working
  • Manufacturing defects discovered within one year of purchase
  • Units that arrive damaged or dead on arrival — tell us within your 30-day return window and we'll replace or refund it right away

What the Warranty Doesn't Cover

The warranty does not cover:

  • Physical damage from dropping, crushing, or mishandling the camera after it arrived to you undamaged
  • Water damage to a camera installed in a fully enclosed or submerged fixture (LightCam is rated for damp locations — porches, covered patios, garages — but not fully enclosed globe fixtures or direct submersion)
  • Damage from using the camera outside its rated electrical range (100–240V, 0.18A — standard US household current is fine)
  • Normal wear from regular use
  • Modifications to the hardware

If you're not sure whether your situation is covered, contact us at support@lightcam.com and we'll look at it honestly. The goal is to make sure LightCam works for you, not to find a reason to say no.

How to Make a Warranty Claim

Email support@lightcam.com with:

  1. Your order number
  2. A brief description of what's happening
  3. A photo or short video of the issue (helps us route faster)

We'll respond within one business day and tell you exactly what happens next.

Warranty Registration

You don't need to register your camera for the warranty to be valid. Keep your proof of purchase (email receipt or order confirmation) — that's all we need.

Return Policy

The Short Version

If LightCam isn't right for you within 30 days of delivery, send it back for a refund. No restocking fee. No questions designed to talk you out of it. (A camera returned with damage beyond normal use is refunded case by case — see the full terms below.)

30-Day Return Policy — Full Terms

Window: 30 days from the date your order was delivered.

Condition: Send it back new, opened, or tried and installed — there's no restocking fee for normal use, and you don't have to repack it perfectly. If a camera comes back damaged beyond normal use (cracked housing, water damage, and the like), we'll work it out with you case by case — a partial refund may apply to reflect the damage.

What you get back: For returns in normal condition, a full refund to your original payment method, issued 3–5 business days after your returned camera reaches us (your bank may take a few more days to post it). If a unit comes back damaged beyond normal use, we'll assess it on arrival and tell you the refund amount before we process it.

Shipping: If the reason for the return is on us — a defective unit, one that arrived damaged, or a warranty failure — we send you a prepaid return label. If you're returning for any other reason (changed your mind, no longer needed, ordered the wrong item), you cover return shipping. Either way, we email you exactly what you need.

How to Start a Return

Email support@lightcam.com with your order number and "return" in the subject line.

  • Defect or a LightCam error: we email you a prepaid return label within one business day.
  • Any other reason: we email you return instructions and the address to ship it back at your cost.

Once your camera reaches us, we process your refund within 3–5 business days.

Exchanges

Want to exchange a camera — say, you bought one and now want the 2-Pack? Email support@lightcam.com within 30 days of delivery. We'll set up the return for your original and help you place the new order.

After 30 Days

If something goes wrong with your camera after the 30-day return window, the one-year warranty above applies. The warranty is separate from the return window and covers defects in manufacturing. Contact support@lightcam.com — we'll figure it out.

Subscription Refunds

LightCam Plus is billed monthly. If you cancel your subscription:

  • You keep Plus access through the end of the billing period you already paid for
  • We don't prorate partial months
  • The free plan stays active and your cameras keep working

If you were charged after you cancelled — that means something went wrong on our end. Email support@lightcam.com and we'll fix it the same day.

Retail Purchases (Ace Hardware and other retail partners)

If you bought LightCam at an Ace Hardware store or another retail partner:

  • Returns: Follow that store's return policy and window for refunds.
  • Warranty claims: Come directly to LightCam at support@lightcam.com no matter where you bought it. The one-year warranty applies to every LightCam, retail or direct.
