Your 90-Day Free Trial — How It Works
Every new LightCam account comes with a full 90 days of Plus, free. No credit card required to start. Here's exactly what happens and when.
What you get during the trial
From day one, you have everything in LightCam Plus:
- Unlimited live view — watch as long as you want, any time
- Protection clips saved for 90 days — person-detection events are recorded and stored in the cloud so you can go back and review them
- Unlimited cameras — add as many LightCams as you own, one account covers all of them
When the trial starts
Your 90 days start when you set up your first LightCam, the moment it finishes pairing and shows up in the app. It runs from day 1 whether or not you use the camera every day. The trial is once per account: adding more cameras later doesn't restart it.
What happens on day 91
If you haven't added a payment method before your trial ends:
- Your account drops to the Free plan automatically
- The camera keeps working — you're never left with a paperweight
- Live view is limited to 5 minutes per day (resets at midnight)
- Playing back clips in the app needs Plus. Your cameras still save person-detection clips to the cloud, on every plan for now, and each clip is kept for 90 days from when it was recorded (see our Privacy Policy)
- You can upgrade to Plus any time to restore full access
You won't be charged anything unless you actively upgrade.
How to upgrade before your trial ends
In the app: Settings → LightCam Plus → MANAGE SUBSCRIPTION. That opens your account at lightcam.com, where you add a card with Update payment. Plus carries on without a break, and your first $9.99 charge is on the day your trial ends. Stripe, our payment processor, emails a receipt for each payment to the email address on your LightCam account.
LightCam Plus is $9.99/month. No annual commitment. Cancel any time.
What if I upgrade during the trial?
Nothing changes until the trial ends. Your first charge is on your trial's last day, and Plus continues without interruption.
